How should you view your business when starting up?

Every startup should view its business as a tiny seed. That seed needs to be watered and cared for daily to grow.

Likewise, a business that is just starting needs time to develop its brand and grow its clientele. As they say, "Rome wasn't built in a day."

Don't get discouraged if your social media strategy seems stagnant or if your website isn't reaching as many people as you would like right away. These are known as long-term assets and need time and consistency to reach your audience.

In the meantime, take advantage of some short-term assets such as print marketing. Print marketing assets include business cards, postcards, and brochures. These can reach people much quicker in the short term and provide a physical interaction that social media and websites cannot replicate.

Finally, stay motivated! You can do this by being willing to continually learn and grow yourself so that you can put that knowledge to good use. A gardener needs to know good techniques to make their plants thrive. A business owner needs to stay up to date with the latest strategies to keep their business alive. Don't give up! Just give it some time, and you will see results.
